Styrene, also known as ethenylbenzene, vinylbenzene, and phenylethene, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H5CH=CH2. This derivative of benzene is a colorless oily liquid that evaporates easily and has a sweet smell, although high concentrations have a less pleasant odor. Styrene is the precursor to polystyrene and several copolymers.
Application:
1. Mainly used for making polyester fiber, polyester resin, dehumidifying agents, plasticizers, surfactants, synthetic fibers,
2.Can be used as a dye / ink solvent, the preparation of the engine antifreeze, gas dehydration.
3.For the production of synthetic resin, PET, or polyester fiber grade PET, bottle grade PET film used to produce mineral water
bottles.
4.Can also produce alkyd resins, also used as antifreeze.
